Think I've evetually worked out how to follow the course, I'm not brilliant on Facebook. I can't see where to put that you joined me @Beanwood .
I want to do this to see if I can minimise Cassie's self rewarding by scavenging, her recall isn't bad but if she knows there is a snack (in her mind anyway) it's like -- hold I'll be with you just now!
For ages I've been trying to work out how to build up excitement with a ball/food/game if I can, I'm hoping this challenge might help me.

So we have started this, and have been practising the first 2 games and both of us are enjoying them I would say. Warm sausage is very motivating for Cassie.
It's quite easy to follow on Facebook after all, except I am trying to link with @Emily_Babbelhund as my buddy and haven't worked that out yet!

No nor have I, I don’t think my Fb skills extend to that !
I think I will benefit to going back over stuff I did with her as a puppy, same exercises different names !

The Bramblettes have their own group... the #carpetpirahnas. I love the fact that so many have joined in!

Actually quite good @Selina27.
We hit a slight bump with the clicker, as I have taught Hunter (didn't realise it!) to wait for snacks when I put them on the ground!!. I have to say OK otherwise he just looks at me when I say his name, he looks (Click) and then he sits drooling for the teeny weeny snack and me to say OK!
If I throw it and say yes, he seems to knows it is OK to keep eating the treat after the click.
Been busy at work so I am only doing it in controlled situation. Off to take him to the woods this afternoon(1/2 day) so I will find a spot to practice and my son wants to help/train too.
I have buddies but I have a feeling I FB message to everybody!! Not worked that part out!

Definitely some good elements to the challenge, and it's free!
I took Bramble for a 2 hour bimble at Badminton this afternoon, just us. It was good to have a bit of thought around ensuring Bramble was engaged before letting of the lead. I have gotten into a habit of going into autopilot, through the gate and straight off with the lead, so playing a couple of connection games was a good idea. Last time we were at Badminton, Bramble was out of her tiny brain, so not a bad idea to revisit recall with her!
This is one of our games we played when I then let her off lead....

I must say, I'm really enjoying doing this with Cassie.
Whether I achieve my end goal of preventing her scavenging remains to be seen , but we're having great fun so far so I'll take that!

Nothing like a bit of front and bump in the garden!
I watched the 'front' video late last night, then had two five minute practices today, one in the kitchen really close, and one in the garden building a little distance.
Then out on our walk, I used it with Bear on lead when we were walking down a narrow country lane with no pavement, and I realised it was much better than trying to get him in close to to my side. Nothing to do with recall then but a good use of it! Luring 80% though as it's only day one. It's been easier with Bear as I have been building in autosits on many of our exercises together.

I joined the FB group as I had to know what 'bump and front' was. Molly's recall is fine but it's always interesting to hear of any new activities.
Molly's recall is fine but it's always interesting to hear of any new activities.I am at that horrible stage ( not we, OH loves to 'trust' Bear) where you often feel a bit scared to let your teenage dog off lead. He's now got so much confidence, speed and stamina that there's no stopping him if he decides to go. Recall is touch and go depending on myriad variables that are difficult to judge. My take on it at the moment is that I don't want him to repeat undesirable behaviours. OH says if we don't take a chance he'll never get to learn.

This video is at Roadford Lakes, one of our favourite haunts on the way down to Cornwall. (Just off A30). Most of the walk is lead only. There is though a bit right by the edge of the lake that the dogs love, and adore to swim there!
In this clip I work with the magnetic recall game. There is however a point where I spot Bramble "air-scenting" after I release from the game to sniff. I hold her on a stop whistle, and play a game to move her away from the scent. I decide after this to pop her back on the lead. Just as well as I spot something that looked like a large, leggy moorhen pop out afterwards!
