A nail a day?

I find stuff like teeth brushing and nail trimming easier at night when Carbon is tired out and already taken himself to bed. In the morning he's too bouncy!
This is very sensible but also a fine balance in the Kipper household, as he gets bouncy again from around 8.30 pm  I’ll try tomorrow and report back (he’ll probably be a bit extra tired too after tomorrow’s exciting visit! :D)

If I do one nail a day that will take that will take 18 days to get round the lot and Rourke really needs his nails cut at least once a fortnight.
This isn't really for the purposes of long-term nail cutting, this is just a way of taking it back and building trust in the process again. For those dogs who are already relaxed with their nails being cut, it's not necessary. But if they are uncomfortable at all, it's a way of taking away a vast amount of the pressure, and then building it back up.

Yes, I realised that, I need to build Rourke's trust up, he used to be OK but now pulls his feet away. Onwards and upwards!

Hola guapos, ML asked me to tell you that we are not doing my nail clipping game tonight. This means NO BEDTIME SAUSAGE and I am not happy with this situation. Pfft! That is what I say. A Spanish Gentleman Dog cannot use the bad words, but you understand, vale?

I tell ML she is wrong but she says we are in an old Beeandbee (eh?) which looks like her 80 year old auntie's house with lace everywhere and if a piece of my luxurious nails would FLY away and get stuck in the lace, we may be put out to sleep with the pigs.

So I guess it is 'hasta mañana' for our next trim and delicious delicious BEDTIME SAUSAGES. Buenas noches!

We got one done yesterday but now he pulls his paw away. He totally hates it

We had to do his ears today too and that is always traumatic. I was speed-feeding him leftover sirloin steak while OH held him and it was the only reason he let us do it.

Combination of steroids and any extra vitamin support you give seem to make them grow faster. We had Doug on short treatments of steroids but he was on supplements all the time. His nails ended up growing by then but at least he managed to grow them. His toes and nails were never normal after the initial onset of his condition.

Well, I've done the first at long last but I'm not sure if it actually counts. Molly was rolling upside down, playing and having a tummy rub and one of her hind legs was resting against my knee, so I took the opportunity. I held the foot, touched round the nail and then did a small clip. She half looked at me but it was done and play continued.
Does that count? I have a feeling it should be done when the dog is aware, to get her used to it. So perhaps its back to the drawing board :shake:

If you think it counts, it counts! No hard and fast rules here :)

I missed yesterday with a lot of madness, but today I did F3 for Shadow, Squidge and Ginny, and just some start-button stuff with Willow, who wasn't really feeling it today.
