OK, she is a bit of a rough diamond right now! I am also very anxious about her leg still, although I think this is only natural. We take a couple of circuits on lead round the paddock warming up, then try a long retrieve. The dummy is thrown into cover, and is out of sight. I prefer her not to see the dummy land, so she will need to hunt for it, this will naturally slow herself down, reducing stop start and twisting movements. We walk back, then I send in the direction of the dummy,

S'cuse the garbled send out....I was a bit worried Otter might throttle herself! So not used to a girl with such drive! :pull:

We don't do much retrieving at the moment, instead working on a sound sniffing cue, lead work both on and off lead as well as placeboard training. Today though, we had a lovely early bimble with the gang so took her out later on her own for some training. Finished off with a lovely memory retrieve. I rush the cue at the beginning, which is something i need to work on. She is doing so well, my chocolate rocket! :inlove:

We are doing a fair amount of impulse training, at gates, front door, sit and stay, mat work, etc... and I think she is generalising this behaviour to other areas as well. This is also the first time she retrieves off lead. This girl is so full of surprises! :inlove:
