Andorra challenges

Half a tin of beans last night. Nothing so far today. Had hallucinations last night which were a bit weird. In one, there was a band of "static" going all the way around the room. In another, I had blood running down from my head. Still with the night sweats, too, which are horrible.
But, yes, in general, I'm feeling much better!
Shadow is quite edgy today, for some reason, which means he's a bit more bark than normal. I've started taking data on it (time of day, intensity, trigger), so I can see how it changes over time.

I've called the boss of the school and asked to not be given work unless they're absolutely desperate. I know he likes using me ahead of some of the other part timers because of my qualification, but I really can't afford the time off real work, anyway - and I have some other things I'd rather be doing. A couple of hundred euros in my pocket would be nice, but time is nicer!

Today has been much better for the doggies. Barking incidents were about 50% down on yesterday. They have been good as gold through the evening with people rattling round in the hallway, and now (1:30am) there’s a very loud party going on a few floors above us, and all the pooches are sawing wood. S raises his head every now and again, but I give him a stroke and he settles down. We’re sleeping in the living room with them because people will be coming in drunk until the not-so-wee hours.
Fireworks were short and sweet; about 5 mins max. Willow was ok. Not 100%, and wouldn’t eat pyramid pan treats after a little while, but would happily (and droolily) take the last of the suckling pig, so they shared that. Not a bad way to see the new year in, I suppose! Once that was gone, she was more than happy to eat the treats, so I think there was some manipulation going on there :D

That’s so good to hear - long may the woodwork continue! Really pleased the fireworks were short and sweet too, and Willow was relatively unscathed.
In our normally quiet little village we’ve had the aftermath of a house party noisily drifting by (2.30am) so that set Kipper off meeping. He was a little wired by the odd noises (boys shouting at each other, girls screeching etc) so he and I are chilling right now until he’s comfy enough for bed. Hope you’re feeling better and everyone has a quiet night x

That's great news that they were all so chilled out even with the party and fireworks. :happyfeet:

How's Ginny managing the stairs, by the way? I think that was a big concern for you about bringing her to Andorra?

She's doing OK, actually. Of course, they're not wet yet, which they will be when the snow comes, and that makes them slippery. Hopefully her boots will give her grip with that.
She's not shown any signs of stiffness, and we've been doing some hour-long walks - obviously at a slow pace, with a lot of running round games for the Labs and giving her a chance to rest, but it's still a massive change in terrain for her. She's so funny because she always finds the short cuts!

Really good news that the dogs are starting to settle down again. I wonder if they are beginning to remember - 'oh yes, that's what it's like here.'

I'm eyeing up this place for a little break in May: Peaceful holiday home without noise or neig... - HomeAway

It looks teeny tiny and basic, but they are happy to take four dogs, and "no neighbours" is VERY tempting! :D
There are lots of nice walks around, and this area is beautiful; we originally looked at Besalú, which is just down the road, for our wedding. It's VERY green round here because it rains a lot, but to be honest, I wouldn't care if it chucked down every day, as long as we had peace and tranquillity and NOTHING to do except walk the dogs!
