Yes, we have a crate, but he usually only goes in it at night now as he started barking if he went in it during the day. This is something I am going to address.Does he have a crate inside? If you think he needs to go, I'd just go from pen outside to crate inside as many times as it takes for him to poo outside.
Maybe try moving the outside pen to a new patch, in case there's something about where it is that he's taken an exception to.
Moving the pen is a good idea, and although we can't carry him much now as despite his skinniness he weighs a tonne, I can get OH to sit with him in the conservatory on his lap.or if he’s still small enough carry him around for a few minutes till the next visitoutside.
It looks as if it only seems to be a problem if he's in the dining room and can go behind the settee. When he's in the kitchen he doesn't go on the floor and will go when he's taken outside. Somehow or other he's decided the dining room is also a toileting area.
Sometimes this makes him go and sometimes it doesn't.Have you tried making him run around outside when he needs a poo?
I know we will solve it eventually, just seems we have taken a backward step at the moment.
