At the vets

Far out, they really nickel and dime you. A hospital admission fee for laying down some newspaper and giving the floor a quick clean afterwards?

Big Pet Pharma are racking in the dollars with those medicines :/

Re: swallowing stuff whole, is this a Lab thing? Last weekend I gave Carbon chicken wings and they came back up whole...TWICE. Yuck, yuck. He was in the back of the car the first 'return' so I couldn't stop him from having another go, but the second time they returned (at home) and he dove for them, I was able to prevent them from going down again.
That's pretty normal with chicken wings; they always go down whole in that they don't rip bits off, they just generally give them a bit of a crunch to break the bones and then swallow. If they haven't broken the bones enough, they'll regurgitate and have another go. He obviously needed a third go! I'd have just let him get on with it :D

@Leanne, poor you, that must have been very stressful!

Is it wrong that your post has motivated me to cook brownies for my dinner guests tonight? :cwl:

Oh hell , what next Mas ?? Our bill for Reubens escapade with the garlic was almost 400 , but that was also out of hours , sickness stuff, charcoal for 36 hours and extensive bloods , three of them . Just glad that Mas is none the worse for his chocoholic tendencies xxx

Maisy will chew a bull pizzle until the last 2 inches then swallow that bit whole (which is sometimes then retched up - usually the middle of the night thankyou).
A (large) piece of chicken will go down in one swallow but a single peanut will last at least 10 minutes - ??

Glad he's feeling better now, hopefully he will associate the brownies with being made sick and all that nastiness and then never do this again???
:unsure::unsure::unsure::unsure:

You can only hope!
