I realised that I hadn't set up the mail settings so there were quite a few bounced emails. You lot love an email notification, don't you?

ah, I thought this might be what you were up to- my phone was saying something about security credentials when I tried to log in earlier. I figured it was the site being updated/fixed/made better

It's not quite there, old images aren't going to be working properly for a while (if you're seeing them, it's because they're cached) but they're not lost, I'm just working out how to move them over because they work differently on the old server to the new one. Hmmmm...
The only way I can access the site is from Labrador friends Facebook site. If I try on Google it gives me the old site with a IP address not available message

Yeah, not surprising. But if you know the address, you don't need to go through Google - you can either just type it directly into your address bar or else create a bookmark in your browser, or even on your home screen.
