Best Waterproofs

I have a rubbish trespass jacket which cost me £22.99 (reduced from about £110.00) which does the job for me.

When it’s raining Stanley gets a quick run round the nature reserve near us then we play games in the house instead.

I think he hates the rain more than me. I wouldn’t even take him for. Walk but he refuses to go in the garden for the toilet when it’s raining and plays dead at the back door ??

My Paramo let in water today!!! The zip unzipped itself from the bottom and often the sleeves let in water, however, it is wonderful to dry.

OH and Maxx walked in the rain this morning. He just called to say Maxx acted differently and kept putting his face up into the rain. He hasn't seen much rain in his short life so far so he is finding it fascinating. We bought light weight rain jackets from Anaconda for our trip to Rwanda 8 years ago as we were trekking up into the jungle to see the mountain Gorillas and we knew it would most likely be wet and misty (it was). They were expensive but they are still going strong.

I do not mind the wet I have a light beughus jacket and go home when I get too wet. Anything else is too hot for me to wear. It's always difficult finding something that won't make me too hot and sweaty. I put a jumper under it if it gets cold.

It was life changing! I stepped so far out of my comfort zone I nearly fell off the planet.

We also collected a heap of clothing and sporting equipment from friends and family and took them to an orphanage in the middle of nowhere. The bloke running it was the most incredible human being. He'd convinced NASA to come and install a state of art water filtration system so the kids no longer got sick from drinking dirty water.

Our driver, Patrick, lost his entire family in the genocide. All that were left were him and his little brothers and sisters. So he had to bring them up from the age of 16. He was really excited to be going to the area where the ophanage was as his research showed he might have a third cousin near there.
What a trip! And what a major diversion from waterproof clothing. Sorry!

@Lab_adore Wow that's amazing. I always think Gorillas look like people in Gorilla suits. It's the eyes they are so soulful. I would've wanted to cuddle them. Ok not a sensible thing to do I know. :wasntme: It's just like a David Attenborough photo. What a brilliant thing to do. :clap:

@Joy it was quite by accident I got some flexothane trousers. We have a workwear man who calls every three months. He goes around the farms with a van full of workwear, waterproofs, boots, boiler suits, shirts, fleeces etc. I told him I needed some waterproofs that would stand up to a lot of wear and he recommended them. I don't use any other type now.:rain:
