Bioflow collars

Does anyone have any experience of these? I saw my physiotherapist this morning to evaluate the MBST treatment on my knees. We got talking about MBST -magnetic resonance therapy - for dogs. She then mentioned a bioflow collar - she was convinced it helped her black Lab for the last few years of his life.

Our Doggie swimming lady also used magnetic therapy on dogs.
She says it works well.
I don't really know anything about the collars.
Trouble is for a lot of these treatments there is no hard evidence of efficacy. You could spend a lot of money on non proven "cures" which raise your hopes but at the end of the day only lighten your wallet.
Though you will find others that swear their dogs got better using a specific "treatment".
It's hard to make balanced decisions without hard evidence :(

If any benefit is due to placebo effect, then I don't think it will be of help to a dog, whereas it could help a human.
This is often my concern; I don’t know if it has a separate term, but if the remedy has some sort of placebo effect that convinces the owner that their dog is better when it’s actually not, then the dog still experiences the same amount of suffering but is less likely to get the treatment he needs.

But, if you’re able to afford it and go in cynically, thinking that it probably won’t do anything, then you really have nothing to lose by trying. That’s what I’ve done with a lot of the holistic things I’ve tried for Willow. I think that, when you care as much for your dog’s wellbeing as we all do, there’s no shame in trying anything you can to make their lives better, as long as you know it will do no harm.

Gracie has recently showed signs of her age, with greyhounds and especially the larger ones back leg issues are a thing as they get older, I spoke to my vets about what our first step should be and they suggested joints supplements before prescribed medication permanently so we have somewhere else to go if that doesn't work, while I was waiting for the supplements to arrive I also got a bio flow collar and although she has a ton of beds a new memory foam giant bed for her (which of course she thinks is rubbish lol) I didn't think the bio flow collar would do anything and was very sceptical, but I knew it wouldn't do any harm, I was quite surprised there seemed to be a mild improvement, nothing massive but less discomfort, because we went the supplement route it's takes a while to get into the system, with both she's doing much much better, I took the collar off for a few days because I completely forgot to put it back on after grooming her and noticed she was a little stiffer still didn't twig I hadn't put her collar back on because mine are naked at home all except Gracie with that collar, I've popped it back on again now and she's been fruit looping around the garden again! I wouldn't say it works miracles but I wouldn't say it doesn't so anything either based on Gracie, but she's the only dog I've ever popped one on so don't have a good range for comparison I would use one again though to see,

Thank you for your post @Cooper and Stanley. Interesting your comments on Gracie. Sky has been on YuMove tablets for nearly two years now and she also has Rheumocam. She has had quite a difficult few months especially the hot weather not helping her. We have been away and just back. We were camping and both she and I have done great - me with my MBST treated knees (I have osteo arthritis) and I’m not sure what has been going on for her but she’s been so much more active and her coat is beautifully glossy. The only change recently has been the addition of herbs to her food - we are doing a trial for my step daughter who is doing a PhD in Neutroceuticals. I am going to get her a bio flow collar as I think we have nothing to lose. Watch this space!

My Gracie has struggled with the heat and is much happier now it's cooled down too, I'm so glad Sky is doing so well and that you both enjoyed your holiday, I'd be very interested in learning more about the herbs you've been including for Sky if you're allowed to share any information being as it's a trial? Also hope you find the bio flow collar helpful,

Yes eventually I think I will be able to share information about this. Both dogs are doing it. I have to collect poo 💩 samples now we are near the end as I had to at the beginning. Both dogs are wearing Pit Pats on their collars and I have to sync the data daily. I am looking forward to the big reveal of what they have been given.

Ooooo sounds very interesting I would very much like to know the info when you're allowed to do the big reveal!
