Busytoys for alone time-suggestions?

Wow Kong central!! It's something I never really got into, I have 2 that I use occasionally, especially when it was so hot, I filled them with natural yoghurt mixed with banana, went down a treat. I can't remember if Kongs were around when I got Hattie 11 years ago. xx

We have this, allow me to comment:

1. I don't think it's suitable for playing alone.
2. The nuts that hold the spindle came undone easily on ours. Nelson thought it was a kibble dropping on the floor and we just managed to stop him from swallowing it.

If I was in your situation, I would spend the money on more Kongs. We have 10. It's much more efficient to stuff 10 in one go and then you can relax for 10 days before needing to do the task again.
thanks for weighing in, I hate wasting money lol.

Hattie & Charlie wouldn't play with toys unless someone is around to play with them, they sleep. I wouldn't use nylabone's as they are way too hard and sharp bits fall off, not good for their teeth. The multiple Kongs sounds the way to go!! Good luck. xx
Agree on the nylabones. My dad bought him one of those at Christmas, and it made his gums bleed from the scratchy bits after a week of chewing. He does better with marrow bones from the butcher. He also can't have puppy style chew toys-he had one that was bone-shaped, and he laid down and carefully knawed off one end, hoping to find something inside. It went in the trash and he was upset-he liked that one. We now avoid anything bone-shaped lol.

Re: playing when I'm gone.....
The point has been made. I honestly don't know if Shamas plays when I'm not around. I know he doesn't bother the cats...they'd make it clear if he were lol. There's a good chance he'll just go to bed with hubby. or take over the couch. it's not as though he were a puppy. That'd change the dynamic a bit. Shamas is a bit of a layabout during the days

If you fill them up and then soak, don’t you have a bunch oozing out because the kibble expands when soaked?
There’s a bit sticking up, but that freezes too - useful for pups who haven’t quite got the hang of it yet. It took Spencer ages to do more than just nibbling those bits off. Tatze put weight on polishing off his Kongs!

We used kongs regularly with Lilly. Safest for unsupervised use.
now they are just a bit of a great now and again. But more than just kibble
Lilly just sleeps when we are gone.
