So far so good. She's best in hospital while they try to clear the bacteria. We had Scooby home with a drain - I worry that infection could get in that way.

No, there's no rush at this point. Quinn has weathered it all very well so far, so it's best to be patient and be guided by the vet. It's reassuring that the surgery has gone well.

I'm so relieved that she had a successful surgery. Did the surgeon say whether this was rare? I know that surgical complications exist, but to happen over a month after the last surgery, that can't be too common, can it?

Either way he's right - she's young, fit, and healthy, so there's no reason why she won't make a full recovery.
