A sensible decision to wait until tomorrow, but I guess a difficult one as well! The cost is very frightening, I wonder what happens when people are not insured or just cannot afford it. The high hike of vet prices seems to have happened relatively quickly, very scary.
So pleased that Quinn is so much better, what a stressful time you have been through but how lovely it is that it is all over now.

We saw people paying what they could, down to nickels and dimes. OH and I thinking some of these people are likely going without for a few weeks to pay their vet bills. You do what you have to do....they are family!

I wonder did vet bills escalate when pet insurance became popular? It wasn't around when we had our first lab ( or maybe it was but just not popular) and we are shocked at how much more expensive it is now. We took the decision not to insure as it was ridiculously expensive and on top of our human health cover we just decided against it. We have funds tucked away for emergencies so will use that if God forbid something happens

@Lab-adore, yes I think you are right and also the introduction of credit cards! When I worked at the vet, the treatment was affordable.

From what I understand, it became feasible to carry out more extensive investigations and treatment once insurance companies began to foot the bill.

she’s in good spirits, and seems completely normal. She has staples this time and we can get them out in a week. Thanks for all your support! I’m so glad this is all over!
