Poor pooch. I’m sure he’s feeling shaky and very sore. Glad surgery has been avoided for now. Sending very gentle pats his way, poor boy. Ugh so scary. I honestly can’t imagine how poor Grace coped. I always have the worry of a nasty wildlife encounter in the back of my mind when I’m out in the woods...never thought one of you would have one first! :cautious:

I’m glad Charlie & Grace are ok. Charlie is probably ‘flooded’ at the minute due to the incident and it could take several days before he starts getting back to himself. Not walking him for a bit should help. Sending you all big hugs 🤗

Oh goodness, have only just seen this post, it must have been a very frightening experience for Grace. Poor Charlie, he must feel very sore. I have never known ears to be difficult to be sewn up, a neighbour's dog ripped off half one of my dog's ears years ago and she had 36 stitches in her ear. I don't think it will make Charlie dog aggressive but I guess he should keep away from Badgers. I wonder if the Badger was injured before as it is unusual it would just be lurking in a bush? Do hope you are feeling less shocked @Charlie, thinking of you x

Thanks @Lisa and @Emily_Babbelhund for asking. Charlie has just been back to the vet for reassessment. All OK at the moment but the vet stressed he's not out of the woods yet. His face is a little less puffy, the facial woulds are looking better, his leg wound looks good too. His nose is still of concern. His ear is obviously still tender, so now she has asked me to use boiled salted cooled water to dampen the dry blood so that she can review the wound next Tuesday. Surgery has not been discounted yet. Still in his cone. He can go on short on lead walks but he really is a little anxious when outside. He literally just goes out to do his business and straight back in. The vet is not surprised as he has been traumatised :'( We will be taking him to quiet areas for his walks for a little while to build up his confidence.

I am so proud of Charlie how he has coped at the vets, such a good boy.

Honestly Grace is just fine thank you, honestly for a little titch of 4 ft 11" and 7 stone she is so tough. She told me she managed to pull Charlie away whilst the badger was by her feet :sweat: What a stressful week, trying to pack the house, do normal life, nurse Charlie, I am shattered!! :whew:

Glad to hear Charlie is healing well so far. Hope the ear will be ok. I imagine it might be hard to clean it...hope that goes well for you. Poor pooch, what a frightening ordeal for him. I imagine the best thing is to take it easy as you have been doing, allow him to stretch his wings on his own pace. Rest and healing are most important now. How is Hattie in all this?
