lets share your Christmas specialties, traditional or not so traditional, family heirloom recipes or new inventions.
Here is my late mother-in-laws Christmas ice cream.
1/4 pint milk
4oz marshmallows
1tsp cocoa
1 tsp instant coffee
2oz raisins
1oz sultanas
1oz currants
2tblps Sherry
2oz glacé cherries
2oz chopped nuts
1/2 pt thick cream
1oz icing sugar
Mix the fruits wth the sherry and let stand, put milk marshmallows cocoa coffee into a pan and heat until melted, then let cool. Mix in the fruits and nuts. Fold in the whipped cream. Freeze until firm then decorate with cherries and icing sugar. I use a Pyrex bowl lined with cling film them when I turn it out it looks like a round Christmas pudding. I also dribble on melted chocolate.
