Coffi Lab

We had to go back for another one!

This looks so good! I'm a sucker for choux.

Just to add to the thread on activity levels, Chewie is 90% sofa slug. He walks super slowly, sniffing and observing. Half the time off lead he just potters around too. When he goes with his walker he's not super interested in chasing the ball, but more in following his best friend around because he loves him so much. 😂 At home his favourite form of play is... Boisterous scratches while writhing around groaning. 🤦

As usual Jazz wouldn't let us pass the cafe today. If we try to walk past she either slams on the anchors or just turns into the cafe on the assumption that we'll follow.
Today's visit brought mixed emotions. On the positive side we ran into some friends and their dogs. James is the sax player in a jazz combo I play with. His Goldie passed her PAT dog assessment on Tuesday which was great news. He'd been worried about it for weeks, though most of us thought she'd have no problems.
One of the regulars, who always turns up with an elderly yellow Lab turned up with a puppy today. She hasn't been there for a few weeks. We hope the oldie is still with us as he's a magnificent looking lad.

Our Monmouth Coffi Lab was damaged in the recent floods. I had a look on their website to see what their plans are. They currently plan to reopen in the New Year, which is good news for the town’s dog lovers. We often bump into friends and their dogs when we visit.
Today we went to Abergavenny, which is currently our nearest supermarket. We dropped into their Coffi Lab and were pleased to see a couple of the Monmouth staff behind the counter. They've offered the Monmouth staff jobs at other branches while they rebuild, which shows the company in a good light. The lass who served us recognised me and gave Jazz an extra biscuit ‘for a fellow Monmouth refugee’.
They’ve launched a couple of seasonal pastries: a chocolate orange crwfin and a Christmas croissant (Hot Brie filling with pear jam and baked pecans). Both are very yummy!

@Hollysdad, good to read that Coffi Lab will be on their feet for the NY and that they are good employers. How is the rest of the town doing?
The flooded shops and houses are slowly getting sorted. The piles of ruined shopfittings, furniture and other objects are getting cleared. Some shops have been stripped out and have dehumidifiers, others have barely started to recover. Car parks have been cleaned so people can get into town. Our only supermarket (Waitrose) was very badly affected but is intending to reopen in the New Year, which will make a big difference. its slow progress.
