Conversations with our dogs

Now that is me and Cassie so much of the time I find that more and more I talk to her as if she's really going to answer and /or express an opinion. Which of course she does non verbally! I already know that she watches me and draws her own conclusions as to what is going to happen next.
But yesterday I think I reached a new level by proffering a bunch of sweet peas under nose and saying to her "don't these smell divine sweetie", before realising the absurdity of what I had done!
She quite obviously didn't agree with me - I got what I can only describe as a withering look!

When we were little, we used to quietly chuckle at my grandma when she said of her dachshund that “he understands every word that I say!”.
Now I do exactly the same, and it’s true - both Kipper and Stilton understand most things, Kipper understands pretty much everything but does have a humoring expression that says ‘yes yes, you’re whittering on about something beyond my comprehension but I’m listening all the same” 😆
