Dipping my toe into making my own dog food.

I used to use Amazon for Skinners, but found it a bit pricey for several months now, so I've been shopping around. Skinners direct were quite cheap, but then they stopped shipping to IOM. Currently I'm getting it on-Island - it's cheaper for me to send OH to pick up a bag - the shop is near where he works.....and, of course, it costs me nothing then

As you know I cook for my lot and it works out WAAAAAY more expensive than buying even premium kibble. I don't understand how people can say it's much cheaper. I want their suppliers! Everything for my guys comes from the supermarket. The only thing that has reduced in price is that I used to buy a calcium supplement but it became hard to procure, so now I use ground egg shells. That's a saving of about €20 every two months :D

I might have to reconsider Stanley’s food.

His is £68 for a 12kg bag which lasts 2 months.
12kg for two months is pretty good. Ella's 12kg bag lasts 4-6 weeks.

I've tried a few different foods for her but we have the same thing. Her food keeps her healthy, good coat, happy dog, good on her tummy etc. so we just stick with it

Charlie has Skinners Salmon and Rice, a 15 kg bag lasts him around 6 weeks but he is a big lad! xx
This is pretty much the only food which seems to (mostly) consistently suit Bear - even though it's an adult food, I'm sticking with it. I can see amazon prices have gone up a bit, but it's still cheaper than many (including the £100 worth of fish4dogs food I've got in the garage and a £60 bag of Eden food). You can do subscribe and save on amazon which knocks off between 5-15% so I'll keep having it delivered from them for the convenience.
