I just googled Malena and the first page of results are all about the sexy Italian movie, Malena. I had to google "Malena health" before I figured out what you were talking about. Malena/Melena is so close to the actual name Melina, I can totally see how people would get kree8ve with the spelling without realising they'd name their child a type of poo

I've never met a Piper but yes, I'd assume it was a girl's name. I have met an Eden, she was a couple of years below me in primary school. Maybe her dad was a rugby fan and named her after the iconic Eden Park in Auckland? Haven't met an Eden since.

Dawn goes to school with an Essence...A BOY. Come on, who has ever heard of Essence for a boy!? (sarcasm, obviously, because who has heard of Essence as a name full stop, but I'd assume it would be a girl's name!)
