Do you greet your dog?

I can’t imagine not greeting Toffee, he’s so pleased to see me when I come home. Mind you he’s the same when I’ve been gone for a short while, Saturday he was ecstatic when I came back after a quick shower  .
Ripple, on the other hand, treats me with the disdain he thinks I deserve  , unless I’ve got treats of course.

Harley always gets excited to see me. I bend down, give her a rub and say hi, she then runs off to grab a toy, i then sit on the floor whilst she circles me wagging her tail like mad until she finally sits down and gives me kisses.
When I leave, I always give her a frozen and say ‘be a good girl, see you later’. She watches me go then settles down with her frozen.
I could never ignore her when I come home. I love that she’s so excited and after a day in the office I quite often need it!

I always greet Rourke and he comes to me with his teddy. However, if he meets my next door neighbours, men, he cries and yells and loves them to death! I often wonder if it is because he misses Mike?

I doubt it has anything to do with missing Mike, though of course he would miss and remember Mike in his own doggy way. My guess is that it's novelty. You are around all the time, therefore not as interesting. At least that's what I've been told about 300 times over the years when I've complained that my dog is always happier to see visitors than he is to see me! 😏

I couldn't say if he misses Mike, but Cassie loves men , especially young ones. She goes dotty over my son and my daughters boyfriend. My son only has to come downstairs after 10 minutes and she has to find her duck toy to present to him 😊

Maxx is so excited when either or both of us come home - even if we have only been gone 10 minutes. If he is inside he sits on the landing of the steps leading down to the door so he is at our head height when we come in the door and that way he can give loads of kisses whilst his tail nearly wags off. I couldn't possibly ignore him - as many said it is one of the many wonderful things about owning a dog

Greet of course! He knows not to jump, but we do have Shakin Stevens meets Chewbacca body shaking (Hunter not me!)
Like @Xena Dog Princess we have different types.
Gone a long time, usually due to work - Huge hello, mouthing on my neck, tummy rubs, back rubs and lots of Chewbacca noises . How people deprive themselves of this wonderful bond/loving is beyond me.
Short trips: Pat ,cuddle and a good old butt rub

Nice to see you @Shaz you've been missing a while :)
Thanks @Selina27 , I'm in the middle of moving at the moment, furiously packing boxes and signing papers etc. also a bit swamped at work but thought I'd better check to see what is going on. I really shouldn't have started reading the Flapjacks and weird food thread though, still haven't finished reading it, had to go off and get a biscuit :)

All the time and is a double overload if I am late home from work the one day I have to go into office.
Honey will quickly say hello then grab one of my shoes and run around like a nutter always coming back into me.
Vanilla just bows down crazily the goes absolutely nuts and grabs a toy with time for a play.

What's the point if they can't say hello.

Oh yes then I finally say hello to OH.

OH and I greet (and say goodbye) to Ella with more enthusiasm and affection than with each other 😂😂
Yep.

In the morning I’m downstairs a good hour before Mr Boogs. When he comes in we both raise an eyebrow and that’s it. Tatze gets all the attention.

She likes to prance around with her teddy and keep coming back for a fuss, she’s the same with both of us.

:tail:
