Doggy brags

Could you explain some more about what they do in the Dash and Splash? Congratulations for your win!
This is what it looks like empty. It’s about 30 feet long.

First, the dogs go in a training pool (not in picture) to see how they get on in the water. If they jump quite well (with a ball as bait) and are quite confident, they get to try out what is called the ‘long jump’ (see pic). They have a few goes, starting very near the edge, then getting further away towards the far end so they can take a run up to give extra oomph to their jump. If they jump well, a certain length, they go into the finals. In the finals they get a practice jump, then two that are measured.
It is a fair bit higher standing on the platform than it looks in the picture.
Plum loved it.

I cannot believe it. This morning we went for a different walk, having a break from the woods. It's on a footpath across farmland, no sheep currently which is great, at one point we pass a farm where 2 dogs, a collie and a westie, run up and down the fence where the path goes alongside their garden.
Cassie chose to ignore them and VOLUNTARILY WALKED TO HEEL the 30yd or so length of the fence line. This has never been known before, I wonder, I just wonder if we are beginning to turn some sort of corner here! She has already begun to ignore the truly irritating little terrier that hangs out here.
I know she was a bit puffed and hot this morning, so maybe didn't have spare energy, but even so I'm very happy!:happyfeet::happyfeet::penguin::sheeproll:

So Chewie seems to have the idea that his luxurious new bed is his sleeping place. The last few nights he has stayed there till 6am, even with my nighttime loo break and general pregnant restlessness. And nothing in our messy room has been destroyed, or even lightly monched. I would never have imagined this 6 months ago. He is growing up to be such a good boy.

He is so clever. And it's a good thing too, because that bed was bloody expensive!

Today we had our first full meal in a pub with Kipper at our feet :inlove:
He was really fantastic - settled well, didn’t sleep but was a patient little pup while we caught up with our friend who’s just back from America. It’s really exciting that he’s now comfortable doing this (until next time...:D).

We took Squidge into one of our local villages to have a tiny bit of tapas at lunchtime. Since we don't normally go into civilisation, this can be really hard for her, but she was a total star. She helped us out with our patatas bravas, quietly watched the kids go by, even when they bounced a football right by the table, and even stayed while other dogs walked past. She was interested, and I used for to reinforce her staying settled, but she was awesome. She had a single woof when a bird landed right by her head, that was all. She got to have a swim in the river afterwards as her reward.

I really need to knuckle down with this before I can expect her to sit at my feet in a pub restaurant while I eat my meals next May :D
