Doggy brags

Hmm been thinking.......hmmmmm......
Oh yes he can now spin on command using visual or voice!!! Only one direction at the moment but he does it!
I have video evidence also(not very good..sorry about the open bin in the background and my stupid comments!)
Here goes first time try of a video!

Also this morning whilst "scooping the pooping" close to the canal , he did not pull me when another dog walked by.:dancesheep:
AND...I just love GoodGirlJoy posts!:inlove::clap:

Very happy with Cassie this morning, we ventured into an area of the woods where I know she is going to go hunting, which is fine as I am working on doing so with her. To start with, lots of voluntary returns, even though I could see the desire to hunt was there, so very well done. Eventually she worked her way from me, further than I am comfortable with and where I can't really join her. I used my verbal recall -- upbeat and high pitched-- and waited..... She returned right to me, happily and with tail wagging.:penguin:This is a big deal, so I am very pleased with her. Usually when this happens she will come back and "work" somewhere near me, without actually coming to me.
I have certainly been putting effort into recall and different rewards, including being released to hunt again, and also our stop whistle exercises incorporate recall which I think has helped.

It is normally really hard to get Buddy to focus to do any training when we go for a walk on the field, he is too easily distracted by people, other dogs, sniffing, anything other than me! Today we managed some sit and wait practise where I managed to walk quite a way away and he waited until I went back to him or called him to me, proud of my boy today.

When Benson was 5 months old, he would follow anyone! One day in a field he bounded over to a lady with 3 dogs, to my surprise she kept going! At this time I was also using a stick, still rehabbing from an accident.

Fast forward to today, and the same woman is walking 4 dogs (setters..) behind me, a couple of them are pestering me for treats so I calmly ignore them. I have both Bramble and Benson with me, both ignoring her dogs.

We get to the large pond, where I notice 3 mallard ducks pottering around. Not keen to disturb them I let Benson rummage in the water close to me with a tennis ball, playing his favourite game "bury ball in dat mud!" :facepalm: I ask Bramble to stay close. She sits in a perfect heel but watching the ducks. Good girl! I reward her quietly and feed her treats. Then the setters just run wild chasing the ducks...I glare across at her, on her bloody mobile! The ducks are fine though. So proud of Bramble, even when the ducks were flushed, still sat calmly watching in a heel beside me.

This is such a lovely thread. I’m so proud of Mabel she can walk over a wooden bridge and when we went in the little cafe yesterday she walked across the shiny floor. I’ve worked on helping her over her surface phobia for a couple of years now and it’s a challenge. She’s my super star. She’s also stopped chasing squirrels but that’s probably a bit of a fluke. :rofl:
