We had training tonight in sleet, snow and hail - Kipper was willing and a lot more confident than I thought he’d be on the seesaw, even when he slipped a leg off he righted himself and carried on calmly. This is strong progress in his confidence and I’m really proud of him. 2B175D31-5ED1-429F-8634-B2F0DBAB3E64.jpeg

Poppy rolled in fox poo yesterday. It was disgusting.

But - drum roll - it was the first time she has done this in FIVE YEARS!!!! So OH said instead of being cross with her, I should be pleased about the 1,825 days she DIDN'T roll in poo. :celebrate:

Unusually wise words from OH, I thought (but then he wasn't the one who had to clean her up...)

@HAH that is dedication to the cause - brrr!

@MellowYellow once in five years is enough! I have had two fox poo incidents since bringing W&S into my life, so I guess our average isn't far off the same, as they are four and a half now.
Ginny loves to roll on the bed and, apparently, in the manure that is spread around the fruit trees.
Squidge, however, has never once shown any desire to roll in anything. Isn't it strange!

Good boy Kipper, especially in rotten weather.

Merlin has never rolled in anything either. Nor has he eaten poo (though he has many other vices). He did enjoy Poppy being in the dog house though and watching her being thoroughly washed with a bucket of warm soapy water, while he was told what a good, clean boy he was. Doesn't happen often that she's the one in trouble, so he clearly felt he had to make the most of it!

None of my boys ever have, ever. Moo made up for them both. She rolled a lot in anything smelly from rotting compost to beery curry smelling human poo. She swam in slurry and loved rotten dead things the maggoty the better. my getting her clean protocol was well practiced and worked. She was vile no wonder I needed so many collars they always had sh*t on them. I had the smelliest dog ever

Solstice never showed any interest in rolling which on reflection is surprising as she was headlong into everything else! Little Joy is very different, far calmer and more cautious but she does roll, given half a chance!

Otter poo is Cassie's favourite, but that's ok, it doesn't smell as vile as fox poo and the aroma doesn't persist like fox does. In fact by the time we get back home it's usually just a faint musky smell. She always looks so happy rolling in it that I don't have the heart to stop her anyway!
I just avoid the one area of the woods where she's anointed herself with fox poo, only twice in 3 years though. Not too bad a record!

Fox poo was a favourite of Belle when we lived across. Ugh! She moved on to ferret-thing poo when we moved here (no foxes). Not-quite-but-nearly-as-ugh, Coco has rolled in it a couple of times too.
