I have teary eyes for Echo, leaving behind all that he has known :'( I am sure he will quickly adjust.

Also teary eyes for @Boogie xx
He will adjust in an instant!

He‘s been on lots of holidays, he gets in the boarders car without a glance back and heads straight for the toy box when they arrive and settles in. Not a moment‘s hesitation. Just like all GD pups.

It‘s because our methods and routines are exactly the same - feeding routines, spending routines, bedtime routines, rules, training signals - everything.

Also GD pups are bred to be super bold and confident. This makes them hard work, but pays off when it comes time to move on.

Consider Kier. He came to me, then Atherton School, then Leeds for advanced training, then Oxford for hearing dog training (five months), then back to Leeds for training with his owner, then to his owner. Not a wobble for any of the moves.

:inlove:

I will be weeping - but it will be for me, not for Echo. He will love Big School and is very much ready for it.

I've created a monster with Carbon, because he now MUST sleep under the covers, but has no idea how that works in practicality. He will continue to lay on the top of the covers but shove just his nose under. When I point out that he has to STAND UP to get under the covers, he just gives me this look that says "You are a woefully inadequate human in every way if you cannot get me UNDER the covers without making me MOVE." Then, as you can imagine, we reach quite the impasse.

It is one reason that I try to make sure that I turn down the bed before Carbon comes in for the night. Getting him on top of the fitted sheet instead of the duvet just makes life much easier. Also means I can avoid the dreaded ten foot stare. For a dog who doesn't have much expression in his face, Carbon sure can communicate "You are an idiot". 😂
