Ella's sick

OH just called to say that Ella has been sick three times this morning and hasn't wanted to eat any of it. Apparently she seems ok in herself at the moment.

I called the vet and they're worried that she may have been bitten by one of the ticks last week before the Bravecto did its job and that the toxins could be starting to kick in.

I've got an appointment at 4.30pm to take her in and OH is under strict instructions to race her down there if anything changes in the meantime.

I'm totally freaking out as I'm not there to see for myself how she is.

Ok try to keep calm. If the vets were super worried they'd have made you come in asap, so hold on to that. With any luck it's nothing related to the ticks (please no more forum gastro though) and if it is the ticks then your vets will get on to it. Go and have something nice and fizzy to drink and try to relax until her appointment.

Get your OH to take a quick video of her for you so you can see that she’s acting ok. Hopefully that will make you feel better. Agree with XenaWP - I’m sure the vets would have got her in earlier if they thought there was any risk in waiting.

Oh no Em, not a Downunder dog now! I only thought the other day that our Four Aussie and one Kiwi dogs were doing so well health-wise. Hopefully she just ate something that didn't agree with her....please keep us updated

Hope Ella is feeling a bit better now. Hopefully it is nothing and it could maybe be the heat?
And agree like the others if the Vet was concerned she would be at the Vets by now. Hopefully no trip involved and she be back to normal tonight.

Four more vomits. OH took her to the vet. Nothing obvious at this stage so they gave her an anti nausea injection and prescribed chicken and rice.

If she vomits again they want her back for bloods/x-rays

She's just vomited again but the vet said to bring her back if she vomits again an hour after the injection but it's only been 45mins.

She's quiet and has sad eyes :'(

I'm not moving more than two steps away from her :'(

Ella must be feeling better after the anti nausea jab.
I don't think she's feeling well at all. She's outside on the grass and she's licking her lips a lot and drooling a lot (her leg is wet from all of the drips). She keeps changing position too - half standing up, moving to the side and lying back down again. I'm hoping it's just nausea and not pain. The vet is open for another two hours before it switches to the local emergency vet.
