Ginny

We’ve started Ginny on Pentosan injections for her arthritis. Tomorrow morning she goes in for her second of four weekly injections as a loading dose, before they become less frequent.
It’s a ridiculously cheap medication, at just €10 a pop (cost price)! Not that cost matters because we’d manage whatever we had to, but it was certainly a nice surprise after the first injection. Fingers crossed (if you could do the honours,@Beanwood 😂) that this does the job and helps make her more comfortable.

Thanks for asking, @Cath! She's doing well; the injections are definitely helping. We just had our last of the weekly ones, and now we have a three month break until the next. We also have a heat pad which we apply to her lower back (do dogs have a "lower" back??) multiple times a day to help loosen things up and get blood flowing. She LOVES this!!

I don't think we can expect her to be going on any hikes in the near future, but she's certainly more comfortable on her little bimbles. This evening we ended up in the middle of a load of trees which had come down in the snow and it was nice watching her work out how to navigate them, quite happily!

I admit that when I read your update I interpreted “her little bimbles”
as a cute term for her feet. Then I remembered that “bimble” is British for “a casual, meandering walk”. But I do like it as a word for cute dog feet so I think I will repurpose it.
Ha ha I thought the same exact thing!!

She's being Little Miss Tartypants at the moment. Poor Shadow! Although for his part he seems more interested than normal, too. Fun times!

As far as everyday, she's still full of beans and life, but struggling more with walking. We've reduced what we are doing with her and I'm sure there is a bit of a Catch-22 going on there, but it is what it is. We don't take her on "walks" anymore, just pootle around the land and she eats almonds or rolls around in the sunshine while the others run around hunting out balls. She still loves a trip out in the car to go and lay in the river, so we do that when we can, too. She's a happy girl, and that's the most important thing.
