Ginny

I’m always afraid to open this thread....hoping that she’s still doing ok. Phew! It sounds like she’s loving life and enjoying things so much. Good on her, and good on you two, for offering her such a great re-start! ❤❤

Ginny is currently being a brazen hussy, and so I'm keeping Shadow upstairs with me while she stays downstairs. She keeps trying to play with Squidge in the same way she does with Shadow when she's feeling frisky - ears bolt upright and trying her best to play bow on three arthritic limbs. Squidge has never been on the receiving end of playtime with Ginny before and isn't quite sure what to do with all this, so she has a quick bout of zoomies, which sends Ginny scuttling for cover, and then peace reigns for a little while before the cycle starts again! Poor Ginny, but it is quite comical!

She's been spayed, but two different vets (in two countries) think she's got an ovarian fragment left behind, meaning she still has seasonal hormonal fluctuations, as if she's going through seasons. Of course, she can't get pregnant, but I still don't want there to be any shenanigans!
The vets didn't think surgery was a good idea because of her age, and the fact the fragment could be tiny and have migrated to anywhere in her body. And, of course, dogs don't have the menopause, so she'll go through this until the end.

My elder daughter had a female cat from Cats Protection League , they had her spayed but she still kept getting majorly bothered by Tomcats , it was a similar case of a tiny little bit of tissue being retained , poor thing and poor dogs too x

I don't think she's overly bothered by it. It seems to give her a bit of va-va-voom and she gets very cuddly with J, too :D
We just need to keep her and Shadow apart for a few days when they can't be supervised. When we're able to keep an eye on them, they're fine in the same room or out mooching together. It's not as if he's getting distressed about it at all, so it's more of a slight inconvenience than anything to be sad about :)
