Good weight?

What's a good weight for adult male lab?

When I got Shamas, he was 55lb, and seemed pretty thin, lacking muscle mass he's now 62lb, and looks pretty near perfect to me....well muscled, no longer limping on that back leg except during damp weather, good shape.....what do you think?

I'm from a retriever family, and all of those look like barrels lol

Please forgive the mess....Shamas has been ripping paper again and it doesn't matter how often I sweep, there will always be fur~piles :pP_20180812_162231.jpg

He looks nice and slim to me, too. I'd like to see even more muscle, but I love a buff dog :D

The numbers are pretty irrelevant, as it's all about the condition. Shadow is a bit of a tub at the moment, but weighs exactly the same as when he's very lean and rippling muscle at the end of the winter. He and I are both back on a fitness programme as of this morning!

He looks really good to me. Having our pups weighed regularly helps us to keep an eye out for weight gain or loss as it is harder to argue with a figure on the scales. As a guide I refer to a Body Condition Chart to assess in general, but it can be a little more subjective on definition :) This chart isn't perfect but is useful to get a clear idea of what our pups should look like. (you may need to click on the chart to expand to read more clearly :( )
