We have had Molly put to sleep this morning. Yesterday she was clearly feeling ill - lethargic and not eating (unheard of for her). It was very peaceful - she went into a deep sleep and then died. I'm in bits.

So sorry. she was such a beloved girl. She will be missed by us all. Love to you, it's hard but she was such a huge part of your life and leaves such a hole

Little wonder - you did so much together and you cared for her so well in her last couple of years Joy.
When I joined the Forum with a harum scarum puppy and later with a rambunctious teenager Molly was one of those whose training and behaviour I as aspired to, and I enjoyed following you both over the years - so thank you xx

I am so sad for you to read about Molly. She looked such a dear dog in the videos and together you will have enjoyed many years of happiness. It is so painful when they have to go.

Thank you Alison (and everyone). I went out today and as I came in the door I went to call out 'Hello Molly, I'm home' - it was like a punch in the stomach as I stopped myself.You are very much in my thoughts Joy @Joy
Molly had a very long slow decline, but she's had some happy times over the last few months, with little trips to the beach just to sit and look at the view/ take in the smells. The end came quite suddenly and unmistakably - she stopped eating on Tuesday (nothing could tempt her) and was just lying there looking exhausted and miserable. The vets were very kind to both Molly and me. They put a lovely soft fluffy blanket on the floor so that she could lie on it and I could sit on it next to her stroking her and talking to her while the vet worked. Molly went first into a very deep sleep and then died with no real sign that she passed from one state to another. So as these things go it was as peaceful as possible.
