This makes me want a black Labradoodle! I grew up with a black poodle, so have a soft spot for them (even if poodles are certifiably nut balls).

No, they were tiny when they were born

Yes - they feed from Mum to a strict schedule once weaned, just at bed time I think.

There use to be one in Ellsworth that would show up in the grocery store. It was always startling to see clip-clopping down the aisles. It was tiny, not much larger than a good sizes lab.

Unless reddit has lied to me, only horses or dogs can be certified as service animals in the US. I always thought the "horse" service animal was a thing of legend, though! And that pony was flipping huge!

It looked like maybe the pony was wearing shoes over his hooves? It also looked like he was having a poo on the tube (into his discreet bag of course). The excitement of it all must of proven too much for him.
