Haha! Benson is ALWAYS bringing me various pairs of glasses...he pinches them off the table, waits till I spot him, then trots off, glancing back, then slowly brings them back to hand. We call that his "fake" retrieve. :) I think I have created a monster, as I reward him for bringing them back. but tbh I was tired of picking up bits of plastic frame and lenses from his bed.:rolleyes:

I've definitely trained Homer to take socks and underwear I've taken out the drawer while getting dressed. He'll lie on the bed all cute and innocent then stealthily pick up the socks, and run around the house then wait by his treat box in the kitchen. I run after him in a state of undress making the chase fun and give him a treat in return for the socks. Its just our little morning routine and gets me moving in the morning. I'm sure there's a whole long thread in us all about the things we've accidentally trained our dogs to do.

Rory has a strange relationship with the washing machine and always has. He ate the last one just the bottom bit. The new one he loves he can open and shut the door. He gets stuff out and parades about thinking hes special. He also helps me hang out the washing and will pick up things I've dropped.Earlier this week he opened the door to the machine for me as I bought a load through. Just nosed it open, you gentle have to apply pressure to open it he been doing that for a while but he did it at the right time for me to put it in. I stood thinking about it I've never taught him that did he really do for me as he knew it was necessary? I just don't know but the door was opened for me . Was it just a coincidence?

Maxx ate a sliver of soap the other day, I couldn't believe it and thought it was odd; surely it tastes terrible? But then when you think about the other things they like to eat :poop:, soap probably tastes pretty bland

I'm glad he isn't the only naughty pup out there. But I look forward to the day he brings his thieved goods back willingly instead of having to be chased or bribed with a loud 'SCATTER!!!' and kibble thrown on the floor (thanks for that one @snowbunny, it has saved many many tv remotes, expensive reading glasses etc). We try to keep our couch and surfaces clear but of course we forget often. When we let him out of his pen in the morning now, the first thing he does is run to the couches looking for something to steal. Sigh

Rory is a bit of a hand holder he likes to put things in his mouth so I leave legal objects when know he will be grabby. His favourite objects are cushions
