Hattie, her lump and arthritis

Over the last few days Hattie has been licking her rear end quite a bit. On investigation I found a lump about the size of a grape with a slit in it. It has no different colour to it. Also there is bigger mass next to it. I am very worried and am taking her to the vet tomorrow. I know I shouldn't have but I googled it and am terrified by what I found She is eating, pooing, exercising all as usual. Any ideas please? xx

No, I don't think so @Jacqui-S as it's not in her anus it's just below. No scooting, smell or rubbing, just licking and two separate lumps. One a very definite lump and one more spread over and larger. xx

Could be a fatty lump Helen , you do right to take Hattie to the Vet , hoping for a simple outcome xxx

Could be an anal abscess. Or infected anal glands.

Maybe Sonia, she's not in the least bit bothered when I check it. I am keeping it bathed with cooled boiled salt water as it does have a clean cut in one of the lumps. x

Who know's but there seems to be a lot going on in her nether regions. One grape sized lump and a much larger spread out mass. Lets see what our new vet has to say tomorrow. xx

It looks clean. I have been bathing it and she's not licking as much today. I am worried because of the larger wider mass next to the lump. xx

As somebody who just had a lump that turned out to be an abscess - hopefully it's just an abscess. Good luck at the vet.
