Horrible experience with guns

So glad Reuban is ok after yesterday's scare. With my two if there's shooting or any loud noise they look unsure about I tell them it's just Paul. Paul (farmer) has been making ridiculously loud noises near them with machinery, motorbikes, guns all their lives so they happily believe me and carry on. I suppose it's a bit like a cue that it's ok. If Reuban starts to take notice when you turn the volume up on the CD you can say it's just the disc and carry on your job then next time you come across a worrying noise on a walk etc you can tell Reuban it's just the disc. It's lovely you met up with your walking friend and that Reuban and his new lab got to play and be friends like Sam and Honey.

Clever boy Reuben for finding Paul, that's brilliant. What a shame that you have to avoid another place for walks, trying to find out who was shooting and when they plan to shoot next would be handy, what a hassle though, it takes the relaxation out of the walk.

The good thing I have discovered is that the guns are only allowed at weekends as during the week, forestry workers are often around , so its a safe walk Monday to Friday . I am continuing to play the gunshot CD from dogs trust , no reaction so far x
