Hot Dog!

Alternating between a cool mat from the freezer and a wet towel to keep the SBD comfortable. It's over 33C here (hot for the uk) and humid with it. Lady really struggles in the hot weather poor lamb. It's forecast to be hotter tomorrow but with a chance of rain.

In the mid 30's here. I went out really early this morning but still had to cut my walk short due to the humidity. Hattie and Charlie are sleeping on our stone floors, very cool. I'm not doing any training or even playing. It's just too much. Glad I'm moving to Scotland! :) x

We go for early walks at 7am and then a late afternoon swim in the brook on the common. We also have an old paddling pool in our small garden that Homer flops in from time to time but at the moment its in the sun so will wait until this evening for a paddle.

A wet towel over the back of a chair in front of a fan helps too.

Homer follows me around the house with looks of being bored and tired. He likes to be on our bed with the fan on, even if he's wet I don't mind at the moment.

I'm not looking forward the the thunder storms forecast for tomorrow but we are desperate for rain. We haven't had one single drop of rain in our corner of SW London for over 2 months. The common is so dry even the nettles are wilting!

Really feel for you in the SE, it's about 5 degrees cooler here but still pretty roasting. Last week we noticed bracken on Dartmoor wilting, never seen that before.

Wet towels are a great idea, and a fan behind a wet towel over a chair even better. I saw a suggestion for freezing bottles of water and standing them in a dish in front of the fan, sort of DIY air conditioning.

One garden game we've been playing is bobbing for iceblocks; I freeze water in plastic yoghurt pots, fill up a trug with water and drop the ice in for Kipper to fish out. He tends to drop it straight back in and it melts pretty quickly, but it's quite entertaining and cooling, and he tends to drink a fair bit in the process. He's also learning to blow bubbles through his nose which is funny!
