Hydrotherapy for Cassie

This morning Cassie had her first session with Alice the physio and started treadmill hydrotherapy sessions. This is to help her stay as comfortable and active as possible now that she has arthritis diagnosed.
She had a ball - I mean, what's not to like about ad lib liver paste

What a great idea (bribe)! There was no liver paste when Amber had similar hydrotherapy years ago after her cruciate ligament op, but it really helped her. I hope Cassie soon feels the benefit too.

Thanks Alison, it's not the end of the world, after all she is 10 and half now!
And it's only just occurred really, despite the slight hip dysplasia.
Hopefully it will help build up her muscle mass.
Like I say, it's about maximising her activity level going forward.

Thanks @Granca, she did look down at her feet going backwards when Alice started the treadmill - why am so far from the liver paste now? Oh, OK, just keep walking

Solstice also had hydrotherapy following cruciate ligament surgery. She seemed to enjoy it once she'd got over the fact that she wasn't supposed to swim!
Treats played a large part in it, of course.

Snowie had hydrotherapy when he slipped a disc, and he got sooooo strong. Muscles of steel in his back legs. I would’ve continued it had it been closer to home. But unfortunately it was too far to be sustainable.

He was streamed treats by the assistant, and whew the barking if they weren’t given fast enough. I think we all went deaf! I do like the licky mat; it’s at a better height than having to constantly look up for treats.

You make a good point @mf about the placing of the reward - Alice also advised me to raise the height of her food and drinking bowls.

Yes we did that with Sky when she developed arthritis - helped her
