Hello Jill and welcome from me and Pepper who’s coming up to 11 months old.

It’s hard work and I remember well the first few weeks of sleep deprivation when Pepper was that age. Lots of help here, and rant here too if needed. It really does get better!

Hi @Jilldrinkwater from Natalie and Monty.

I remember day 11 got me. We were doing stupid 'day one in the puppy house' voice overs in big brother style, and I just remembered starting crying and couldn't stop. We talked then he was going to have to go back to the breeders that weekend. He didn't, and here we are 5 yrs on.

I was a crap, unprepared puppy parent and the whole first 6 months completely took me unawares. Don't be afraid to ask anything here, even if you think it's a silly question. Take one day at a time, do toilet training, bits of play, start simple recall but don't fret about the bigger stuff, it will all slot in later on. Xx

Oscar looks lovely! He may well be a bit sleepy after his injections, but don’t hesitate to phone your vet if you’re worried. I hope you can catch up on a bit of sleep while he’s sleeping!

Hello @Jilldrinkwater from little Joy ( black Lab, now coming up for 21 months) and me, here in West Yorkshire. Joy was the third Lab I'd had from puppyhood. Every single one has had me in tears most days for the first few months. Every single time I forget how hard it was and go back and do it again. Why? Quite simply because when you count the traumatic puppy times and weigh them in the balance against the treasured times with the dear companion that pesky puppy eventually turns into.... well, there just is no contest. So please don't feel bad about finding him so challenging currently, or about crying. Stick with us and him and you'll end up having such a good and special time! Honestly! xx

Hello and a warm welcome to the forum. Oscar looks like butter wouldn't melt, but we all know the truth of what devil dogs they can be! Hang in there and ask as many questions as you need. Many of us have been through it, some multiple times, and everyone here is kind and sympathetic. We've all felt frustrated and useless at times. We know what you're going through. Our puppy mantra is: "This, too, shall pass" :)
