Incontinence?

Miss Ella will be 8 in April. Ever since she was a puppy, she has had the odd random full wee accident while asleep (usually on our bed ). It's been infrequent enough that we haven't worried about it (less that 10 times ever, including after a GA where she was stoned out of her mind ).

This week it's happened twice.

Her Cytopoint had worn off this week so she had been super itchy (we've had her injection done again now). Not sure if this makes a difference.

Wonder if it could be a UTI.

Ella seems perfectly well in herself.

Not sure what I'm asking, possibly just sharing my mental load!

Can you look up side effects to see if it’s the Cytopoint. If it’s not might be worth checking it’s not a UTI

If she's been OK with the Cytopoint in the past, I think I'd be checking re a UTI.

Id also look into incontinence due to spaying. Some bitches develop it as they get
older. Moo had it and the vet gave us some meds which helped

Not related to the cause but I have one of these wet dog mats for Lilly.
They are designed to help with incontinent dogs but have loads of other uses. They are nice and thick and soft, and I use it in the back of the car for long journeys, helps to absorb dampness after walks.
Highly recommended them.

My Airdale, Georgie suffered from incontinance as she got older. She had medication for it but I don't know what it was.

Older bitches who have been spayed can become incontinent when they would have been in season and there is excellent medication to give at these times, I am afraid I have forgotten the name!!

Euan was incontinent and got ephidrine (enurase) tablets

My mum's friend has an older bitch who became incontinent as she got older - the medication (also can't remember the name) stopped it completely.
