Thanks for asking @Cath

I am starting to get into a new ‘normal’ routine but it has been hard going. I still miss her every day.

I am having my grand pup Lyla stay with me next week as my OH will be at my daughter’s house rebuilding their bathroom. I’ve had friends dogs here for an hour or so, but none stay. I’m looking forward to it but also a bit worried as she’s not been here since Harley went.
Last week I popped into my dog walkers house to get my keys - when I went on they had one of the dogs they walk there - fox red lab who was one of Harleys closest friends and they look similar. I completely broke down. She came and gave me snuggles which was lovely but hard at the same time.

I am slowly adapting to life without Harley now. I have more up days than down now and can often look at photos and talk about her silly but cute antics. I still miss her daily, but it is a bit more bearable now.
We are moving house over the next month and we have started talking about getting a puppy next year sometime. I don’t think we will go with a lab as I feel I would compare them too much.
Our granddaughter is 2 in 2 months and our new house is nearly an hour closer to them, so just over an hours drive which means I can spend more time with her.
Lyla is really good with Emilia and they are best friends now which is great to see.
Emilia often points to a photo of Harley at their house and comes to get me to tell me that it is Harley which is cute.
