Interesting video of body language

Here’s a video I came across on FB, showing clearly the body language of three dogs in a dog park, leading up to a minor scuffle.

I thought some of you might find it interesting.

I agree with the author.

The pup was very much a typical pup - but he was expected to interact with far too many dogs. They need to learn doggy manners with one or two dogs at a time. The owner should have been watching every move and kept him away from the grey collie.

He wasn’t even being very pushy either - all mine (except Echo) have barrelled in far quicker and less carefully than the GS pup.

I don't think the little GSD pup did too badly, considering the owner didn't help. The owners of all the dogs didn't seem to have a clue. I loved the tan/white collie keeping the peace. Hattie does this and has defused quite a few scuffles! Interesting video and another reason I'm glad I haven't been to a dog park. xx

And clearly wasn't. In fact most of the people were just aimlessly standing and not aware of the dogs, I felt.

Very interesting clip! Thank you for posting @snowbunny ! An awful lot is happening in this video, very much a sensory overload for the poor pupper, who is naturally a bit gauche at that age. Very tricky for the GSD especially as you consider the clip has actually been slowed down.

What an interesting video. I never really watch the other dog (the collie that tried to diffuse the situation in this case) so I found that particularly interesting.

I didn't feel any dog was in the wrong, just an unfortunate case of miscommunication/misunderstanding.

I am incensed! How could this be allowed to happen? It's almost as bad dog fighting in my tiny mind.

I can't imagine why anyone would take their dog to such a squashed space for off-lead play.

Why was nobody watching the dogs? Or if they were, why did nobody intervene before it got to that stage? Poor little pup needed to be kindly removed and distracted for a while surely.

Thank you for this posting. For inexperienced owners like myself, having the warnings labelled really helps. I would not have caught the first few warnings , and I watch closely when Shamas is around other dogs

Really interesting, especially the peacemaker collie. Watching this it all seems obvious but when out with your dog it is harder, for me anyway, to pick up all different signs. I need subtitles when out on a walk, that would be handy.

Annoying that no one seemed to be paying attention to the behaviours going on, I watch constantly with any interaction as you don't know how other dogs will react all the time, or your own for that matter. Must watch the other vids in this series.
