Dip a big spoon in runny honey and let it run off so it is just thinly coated....then let him lick it off a tiny bit at a time. We found it was really good for soothing the coughing (and Pongo thought it was the best thing ever...)

Poor Pepper pup hope he’s feeling better soon, that’s tricky keeping it on the downlow. I’ve been slowly working through a cooperative care book that gives good calm, quiet games like chin targeting and 2 or 4 paws on - might help keep him occupied?

He's decided he does like the taste of honey, so is now content to lick away...

Hope he feels better soon. It sounds awful when they cough.

When he coughs, does he vomit? Sometimes the hacking causes vomiting by the sheer exertion of it. If so, highly recommend laying down newspapers or towels—much easier than cleaning vomit off carpets!

He threw up frothy phlegm many times last night, so we'll cover the bedroom floor tonight. During the day, he seems not to throw up, just coughing and retching.

Oh Pepper, that's rotten At least it shouldn't last too long and we can enjoy his glorious running photos again in no time

If he develops other symptoms then it's back to the vet, otherwise the vet said see how he is after he's finished the course of antibiotics.

He had a better night last night, only woke every hour or so for a coughing fit, then back to sleep quite quickly.
