Kennel Cough

fingers crossed she's over it

Let's hope that's the end of it for the poor girl.
I hope so. I am still giving her the Loxicom as not sure when to stop really. Still only one walk a day and no 🎾 playing so there’s no over exertion. Still keeping her away from other dogs (easy so early in the morning). She is just as hungry as ever

So glad the cough has gone and she’s feeling better 😊. My dog Walker messaged me this week (we are away on holiday) as several of the dogs he walks have got kennel cough. It’s seems to be doing the rounds by us 😔

Maisy has it now, I spent last night wide awake and mopping up foamy stuff, poor Maisy is exhausted. A friend dropped off some Coconut Oil for me which is absolute magic. Just a tiny bit on your finger given when they are coughing and it stops. Whether it is the action of the licking or the oil itself I don't know. I have electricians rewiring the house this morning so have no sanctuary where we could both get some sleep so I have brought her to work to rest and keep warm. Also she kept bringing toys to the sparkies every time they came in the room and set off another attack. Don't know where she got it from but have told all her doggy friends and just hope it wasn't passed on before we knew about it.

Maisy has it now,
Oh no, poor Maisy. I gave Red a teaspoon of honey twice a day. I think it helped. Also I think the Loxicom helped. The best thing was resting and Red slept a lot for several days.

Don't know where she got it from but have told all her doggy friends and just hope it wasn't passed on before we knew about it.
You are like me - once we heard the cough, we knew what it was and kept her away from other dogs which we are still doing (she’s been cough free since last Tuesday). We also told everyone we knew as Red had been playing with their dogs before we knew.

KC is rife in this area apparently
I’m picking up it’s rife in a lot of areas. It’s so important to keep away from other dogs even when the cough has stopped

This is what I read when googling

at least one week after all symptoms have completely resolved

and we have stuck to this and will continue to for a while even though it’s nearly a week . We have still walked her but very early mornings and put her on lead if we’ve seen another dog (there’s only been one or two). Both of us have gone out with her to be absolutely sure she kept well away from any dog we may see.

The vet didn‘t say anything and I’m wondering whether people are maybe not aware that dogs are still infectious once the cough’s gone
