Lady getting worse

What about this one? Pet Stroller
A friend of mine has used this stroller for her dog with arthritis. She had a Dutch dog called Friese Stabij...https://www.nvsw.nl/index.php?sp=126

She didn’t weigh half as much as a lab though. Is there a possibility of trying it out, do you know someone who has this? Also you have to carry Lady into this, will she allow you to, isn’t this too hard on her?

The Thule look great but way more than I'm wanting to spend. Also Jacqui has a point above about the small front wheels on the one I was looking at.

We did the whole looking at pet strollers/pushchairs for Sky but concluded they wouldn’t work for her or us. At 27kg, she was just too heavy to get in/out and would have been too hard on our backs to pull/push. As we mainly wanted something to get her across sand on the beach, we couldn’t find anything suitable.

I used to take Sky for sniff walks towards the end of her life. We would walk to the grassy area just around the corner and she‘d endlessly sniff - much more beneficial than an actual walk.

Everything you describe about Lady is how Sky was. The panting was when she was in pain. She lay around most of the day just watching us. The saddest bit was when she stopped greeting family when they came. We had to carefully manage her toilet routine and there were accidents in the house. Her back legs also used to give out a bit or she‘d stumble. We spent weeks preparing ourselves that the end was near and the day we decided was when we observed her struggling and both said we thought the time had come. I do get comfort from knowing we both instinctively felt the time had come and that comforts me now.

It’s very hard. Thinking of you

Thank you - very helpful.

Ruth and I fully understand. We went through a very similar stage with Cocoa, or last Lab. During her last year she was quite happy to follow us around the house and garden. She liked to be taken to her favourite places, but would only walk for a few minutes then just lie and enjoy the smells. We made a ramp so she could get into the garden easily. At the end she made it very clear that it was no longer easy or enjoyable to join us in the garden, and short car journeys were uncomfortable. Those last little pleasures had gone from her life.

You're obviously very attuned to her moods and I rather think that you'll know when the time is right.
