Lambies for Joy please.

Stitches out, vet nurse very pleased with how well Joy's healing, now allowed off lead, but no 'racing around like a lunatic ' (Joy says 'Me? Race around like a lunatic? I hardly think so!') and no swimming until her fur has grown back. So we had pleasant amble around a local nature reserve, where we happened to meet Freddy, a gentle Golden Cocker, who Joy's known for a few years and likes very much. I threw the ball a little way several times and Joy did some fairly sedate retrieves, accompanied by much wagging. By the time we got home we had been out for two hours, including the stop off at the vet, so twice the length of time we've been allowed recently and she seems quite happy with this and is now snoozing in the garden, so all is fine.:sun:

Blimey, I wasn’t told that. Is that because of the wound? Red had masses of her belly fur shaved off and part of her side for her ultrasound in April when she was so ill. She went sea swimming almost daily in the Outer Hebrides in May and sea swimming in Norfolk in June but of course there was no wound. The fur is only just starting to grow back where it doesn’t look so obvious.

Pleased Joy is on the mend and getting more exercise

Not exactly sure why we have to wait for the fur to grow back, but it's started already, so with luck she'll be allowed to swim again fairly soon.🤞

Thinking about your question again @Atemas, it must be because of the wound. Probably the fur regrowth is a sign of healing, and perhaps the fur is an extra layer against possible infection? Anyway, I don't think you can have done anything wrong in letting Red swim before her fur had grown back.
