Licking beds

Does anyone else have a dog that does this? Ginny licks beds, sofas etc. It drives me bonkers! She stops as soon as I call her name for her to look up but it’s something she’s always done since bringing her back. I wonder what’s going through her head sometimes!

Yep, the Pig licks her bed before settling down to sleep. She seems to include it in her nightly routine lick of her puppy boobies and bottom...I’m glad she is not allowed on the sofa as I am sure she would lick that too if it was classified as a sleeping place!

Yep, when getting ready for bed Kipper licks us (arms, feet if available) then his boy bits, then his bed/ cushions nearby. Nice and gentle but with purpose.

One of my cats is a fabric licker. If you leave clothes on the bed then they get licked (we call it "getting Serenity-d", she wets them completely). She'll also just lick the duvet cover. The noise drives me bonkers, especially when I'm trying to get to sleep. I think it's a self-soothing thing.

Homer will lick himself then move on to the duvet cover. But recently he’s gone back to licking a spot on his front wrist to the point that he had a raw spot.

He grazed his paw a number of months ago, he licked it a lot so we had to bandage it up. It healed nicely. Then he broke his claw on his other front paw so started licking his paw, so we put a sock over his paw until that healed, but as soon as that was better he started licking the spot on his wrist so now that is bandaged up again.
