Lights for dogs

I just don't use lights I've tried them and don't really like them they get wet and die. When I'm fully dark adapted they really hurt., I'm very photophobic anyway but these bright lights are hard going. I use a bell if necessary but usually at 5.30 am in the winter it's just me in the dark with the dogs,I don't even need a bell you can hear them. If I did street walking with dogs they would be great but it's just too dangerous for that round here. The last time I did a gang of youths asked it my dog would like to fight theirs. They do look well designed though I might give them a going I felt I'd be doing a lot of night walking. Although living here it's a case of moving quickly without being seen.

I think they are a great idea.
I find the light up collars are useless if Lilly is heading away from me off lead in the dark.
This year I have bought a couple of reflective bandanas and o already think they are at least as good as the collars when they pick up my head torch light.
We don't use a harness but would consider this type tbh. Though I don't go off lead in the dark if I can help it now.

Interesting, I've never seen a light up harness before.

LED light collars are very much standard equipment where I live in Regensburg and are easy and cheap to buy (EUR 4-10).

Not sure about the rest of Germany, but the attitude in the old town is you just don't go out in the evening without your "leuchtie" in your bag and charged up. It's especially helpful to keep bicyclers from running over your dog. I like the collars better than the little hanging blinker lights as you can r see the light from more angles. I had Carbon out in a field chasing a ball the other night and it looked like just a floating collar once the sun went down. :D

Now that's what I call a bargain Natalie. I do wonder why some of these so called "named" dog products are so very expensive. x
Yep, I am really impressed with the quality of the lead in particular - it has a comfy padded handle, is fully refelctive (as you can see :) )is super striong and well stitched. It's a mid-grey colour and looks quite nice even unlit. The batteries are also replaceable too.

And the red light is just £1 inlcuding delivery.

Indigo dog tags do still got all my dog tags just not got the dogs. Ruff wear dog boots last better than cheap ones. I do not expect stuff to last forever but I expect to pay a reasonable price for quality.

I do love a bargain but I’ve had so many bad experiences with the cheap light-up collars. If you see them as disposable, they’re probably still not bad value, but it’s a horrible waste and environmentally tragic. The Ezydog lights I have have lasted longer than all the others put together, so I’m happy with them.
I hope the Aldi ones work out - they do seem to have some decent stuff on occasion.

I think Aldi is a retailer that has quality and value nailed, believe me I've bought my fair share of so-called bargains online and in other shops and had them fail, but from my blender to my dressing gown I've been very impressed with Aldi's products and everything electrical has a 3 yr warranty. I'll report back in spring on the collar and lead 😁

I still have a flashing collar that my old late dog Robbie use to wear. Fred wears it now. I got a new one for Annie from Lidl two years ago for £2.99 and it is still going strong.

Mr P takes the dogs out at night and we have light up collars. They have lasted now for 3 years but he said they can’t always be seen from some angles. He searched the Internet and found reflective leg bands for them. They wrap around their legs and close with Velcro, very cheap and very effective. You have four fast moving reflector shining back off your torch and he is happy to let them off lead now in the dark and knows he will be able to locate them well. I think he said it was £3 for a set.
