We were a bit alarmed yesterday when we spotted an inflamed "lesion" on Lilly's undercarriage yesterday afternoon.
She is often lying on her back and legs akimbo so I don't think it had been there for long.
Lilly has been spayed (she was done before her first season at 6 months) and I admit I am not at all familiar with girl dog anatomy.
I thought it was too far forward to be her vulva, and didn't look particularly midline, and looked awful like a tubular engorged inflamed nipple, but was too far back.
So, off to the vet this afternoon, who reassured me it wasn't anything nasty, and fitted with a vulvitis of unknown cause. We have an antibiotic/steroid cream to apply twice a day for a week.
"Phew"!
I do have a photo on my phone that I will upload later once I find it..........
