I have an area of hard standing that I stack the logs on and then cover with tarpaulins. It supplements a number of bins. Not ideal but it accommodates a lot of logs.

That’s really neat @Anne123 - it’s like the one ‘we’ have in Germany.

Mr Boogs is going to build us a log and bin store at the end of the carport, where you can see the bins. It’s unlikely that the car will be allowed in the carport as I intend to hand my washing my washing to dry in there too!

My brother has a wood burning stove and he has a cast iron kettle and casserole dish. He boils his water and does plenty of cooking on there while the fire is lit.

I don’t have anywhere to put a log-burning stove, as we had the chimneys sealed when we bought the house over forty years ago and had gas central heating installed. The chimneys and fire-backs needed renovating, so it was cheaper to seal them. Later, when we had an extension built we didn’t include a chimney there either, so I’m just hoping there aren’t any power cuts. I’ll definitely be wearing layers, as my direct debit for the gas and electricity contract has gone up considerably. Meanwhile, I’m giving away the logs from my garden…!

Those log piles are cool!! But probably not practical

I am going for teal and the small casserole dish to match. (Brother says you need a copper trivet for the casserole as it boils rather than simmers otherwise.)

Of course, I’d much rather faff about online choosing kettles and ash bins than packing boxes!
