Mr Bear still in one piece

Last night, for the first time ever, I washed one of Maisy's toys. Not that I never wash anything, just that nothing ever lasted long enough

I've always been a little flummoxed as to how toys last so long with other dogs, but now I can proudly say that Maisy does not destroy everything (only most things!) straight away. Mr Bear, bless him, is still in one piece after several weeks, although he does get carried around by his face.

This Cassie here is very gentle with her toys, she's had some for years, since puppyhood, especially the zebra that was her imaginary puppy during the phantom pregnancy. She hates it if they squeak, it seems to upset her. The worst that happens is they get used for a game of tug.

Reeva, on the other hand, has destuffed most of them, taken out the squeaks and somehow turned them inside out. So any new ones are restricted access only!:monkey::monkey: Little monkey

Good Mr Bear for hanging in there!

Jess was so gentle with her toys, we still have all of her toys, even her very first bear (like Red's Mr Bear above). Sadly Brodie has killed - and usually eaten- every furry toy that he has ever met so we had to pack them all away! Poor Jess :(
My Duncan was the same as Jess: all in pristine condition and now carefully packed away. Brogan then was a terror. Well, not a terror compared to some dogs, but he'd have a squeaker ripped out in seconds flat.

Now I have Carbon, who again loves his babies. At the beginning he'd destroy things but once he settled in, he won't chew them up. I'm grateful as I get very attached to the stuffies myself and hate to see them ripped up. The only downside: I really can't buy him anything new as we already have a full house. I tried to toss one the other day (an old Christmas toy that he'd half-chewed up when I first had him). Made the mistake of putting into a plastic trash bag with some other trash and Carbon RESCUED the old ratty thing. Didn't touch anything else in the bag, but came out with the mangled snowman. The look he gave me: "How dare you toss my favourite beloved...thing!"

Ugh. He'd not seen the thing in nearly 2 years. How did he even know it was in the trash bag?

Now I'm carrying around a half-decapitated squeaky snowman. :shake:

Molly is hopeless with soft toys - she rips them to shreds in minutes if left alone. I get one out once a day for a game of tug together and then it goes back in the cupboard (and she loves the squeaking ones!) For her birthday I bought a cheap plastic squeaky ring and decided to let her do as she wished. She had it a whole month and entertained us with wheezing screeches just as we were watching something on TV - then suddenly for no apparent reason she chewed it to pieces.
