Hi what muzzle do you use if you use one? Need one to help with Rory's problems. What size etc . Thanks
I think we've going to have to his eating weird stuff on walks is going to kill him. He was sick again yesterday. I think the eating is a symptom of his tummy pain which then makes it worse then he's sick again. I need to break the cycle to calm things downHi Swampy, the one I got for Cassie is a Baskerville one but I can't remember the style . Size 7 comes to mind.
I started a thread (back in 2018 !!!) which has some helpful suggestions. I never persevered, we got as far as keeping it on for a couple of minutes I think. The thread is just called "muzzles"
It's not food he's eating it's plastics foot balls felted fur footballs plants grass etc. He doesn't eat poo either and I don't use any flea prevention unless I have to so it's the blockages I'm worried about. He doesn't eat grass in a nibbling shoots delicate way he grabs mouthfuls and swallows a huge bolas down in gulps the same with things like foot balls. He can destroy one very quickly.Snowie used to eat human poo on walks. But when we stopped all the tick and flea preventatives, his seizures stopped and he stopped the poo eating. I’m sure there was a link between feeling ill and eating the poo. Best of luck with the muzzle. I hope he can’t suck up food through the gaps!
Yes, I totally get this.I think the eating is a symptom of his tummy pain which then makes it worse then he's sick again. I need to break the cycle to calm things down
I have seen those and they are brilliant!I have an expensive Bumas one for Shadow which is nice and quite lightweight. I like that you can choose the colours so they're less "muzzle"y.
It really might be worth consulting with a gastro specialist, certainly getting a referral, or even better a veterinary behaviourist. I am suggesting this because there is a possibility that the two are linked... GI issues and eating undigestible objects. The tummy issue could be driving the behaviour of eating non-food items. It's not food he's eating it's plastics foot balls felted fur footballs plants grass etc. He doesn't eat poo either and I don't use any flea prevention unless I have to so it's the blockages I'm worried about.
