Nelly at the Vets

We thought we had got top side of her upset tummy but it came back with a vengeance , mucus and a bit of blood . She has a raised temperature , so has had a steroid shot to calm things down and an antibiotic shot for infection . It seems to have knocked her for six , she is very sleepy , at least she is drinking and will continue on white fish and rice for a while longer, poor little lamb x

Oh little poppet. Do you think it's just a bit longer on the light diet once things have had a chance to calm down? Is it worth adding a bit of live yoghurt down the line to help with her gut flora post-antibiotics? As long as it's not controversial for her (our vet recommended live goats yoghurt, did a great job) x

Thank you all . She has been for a very short walk , five minutes but it perked her up , now back to sleep . I know that sleep is a healer , and that the shots will have taken their toll, but I hate to see her like this x

My iPad has been dodgy so I've only just read about Nelly and the bowel incident and now she's not well again. I hope she's feeling better soon Kate. Mucus and blood sounds like colitis. Whenever murphy had colitis the injection they gave him worked like magic so fingers crossed Nelly will back to normal in no time. xx

Rory has colitis once it's under control it's fine to deal with,. It's just some doggie life style tweeks and it's ok. Hope it's not that though but mucus and blood makes me wonder.
