Nelly's dog attack journey ❤️

Oh friends , we are in bits , our little girl was badly attacked by a mastif this morning , it pinned her down and rolled her over and over , it took three of us to drag it off Nelly who was screaming . We rushed her to our Vets , they assessed her and gave her pain relief and then we had to take her to their large surgery at Lostwithiel . We are told that her back left leg is broken and that she may lose it , we have had to leave her there whilst they Xray but she is in too much shock to do this at the moment , it would be dangerous to give her sedation or GA .I feel sick with worry , she had done nothing, the dog came out of nowhere , my poor angel , she also has numerous wounds which need stitching , our poor darling x

Oh no. This is terrible news. I am so sorry. I hope they manage to save her leg. I am thinking of you and wishing only the best for dear Nelly. I can only imagine the pain.

I hope the mastiff owner has taken full responsibility. I am furious on your behalf.

Oh Kate, that's quite horrific! Poor, poor little Nelly, how could anyone, dog or otherwise possibly take against her?
You and Paul must be beside yourselves with worry, but I do think that Nelly is a strong and resilient little girl and you got her to the vet very quickly, so these are things in her favour.
Sending you all love and:hug::hug::hug:. You will be in my thoughts very much ( I still remember how I felt when Joy was attacked out of nowhere, it's never quite left me.) All the:thelambiesarecoming::thelambiesarecoming::thelambiesarecoming:in the World for Nelly, please keep us informed if you feel up to it.xxx

I am so sorry Kate. I can imagine how you and Paul are feeling. I hope the owner contacts you and pays the bills for poor Nelly. It is good that she is stable enough for X-rays. My heart goes out to you. We are all here for you xx

I’m so sorry, Kate. That’s terrible news. I hope the X-ray results show a good way forward and stoic little Nelly copes well with whatever treatment is needed. Lots of  to you and Paul and endless:thelambiesarecoming: for Nelly.

Nelly will have her leg amputated tomorrow morning , she will stay in the Vet tonight to be monitored as she has had to have drain fitted in the largest wound , others have been stitched . The break was very bad indeed and in the opinion of the Vet , it would require very extensive surgery which may not be successful , We are beyond distressed , its so damned unfair xx

Kate, I’m so sorry. Do you have people supporting you right now? It’s a really traumatic thing you’re going through, don’t hold back from calling the Samaritans if you would like to talk to someone on 116 123. They’re there to listen for any sort of distress, don’t feel it’s not in their remit. Sending you both much love xxxx
